This policy covers the Local Cheers iPhone app and website, operated by Rutschmania, LLC.
When you sign in, we receive your email address and an account identifier. Depending on your sign-in method and choices, we also receive your name or profile image. You can add or change your display name and avatar. We store your Cheers (bar, team, and timestamps), posts from beta versions, city and team suggestions, venues and supporter groups you add, and achievement and supporter statistics.
Signed-out Cheers use an anonymous identifier stored on your device or in a website cookie. Our website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate page-view and QR-scan statistics, including page, device, browser, and approximate region information. Requests to our hosting and authentication services also include technical information such as IP addresses, which may be processed for service operation and abuse prevention.
Your data is used solely to run the service: computing club leaderboards and supporter statistics, enforcing one-cheer-per-team-per-city limits, and preventing abuse via IP rate limiting. Analytics help us understand overall usage and improve the product. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
The iPhone app supports Sign in with Apple, Google, and email one-time codes. The website supports Google and email sign-in links. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose Hide My Email. These providers process sign-in under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

lc_anon — signed anonymous identity cookie, expires after 1 year. Used to associate Cheers with unauthenticated visitors.

lc_primary_club and lc_primary_city — store your selections as a convenience preference, expires after 1 year.

Supabase auth cookies — session tokens set when you sign in, used to keep you logged in.
The iPhone app stores your selections and anonymous Cheer identifier locally and uses secure device storage to retain your sign-in session.
Location access in the iPhone app is optional. When allowed, it helps select a nearby city, show your position on the map, and sort places by distance. You can choose a city manually and change location access in iOS Settings. The app does not request background location access. Apple provides the in-app maps; opening directions in another map app is subject to that provider’s privacy practices.
Venue listings, supporter groups, and aggregate Cheer counts are visible to other users. Earlier beta versions also supported public Supporter Wall posts showing the author’s team and posting time. The first App Store release does not display or accept these posts. Avatars are stored at publicly accessible image URLs. Avoid including private information in public content or images. City and team suggestions are used to help decide what to add to the service.

Each third party operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreement.
Anonymous Cheers stop counting after 24 hours; expiration does not itself delete the stored record. Cheers made while signed in stay active until you remove them, switch to another bar for the same team and city, or delete your account. Account and contribution data are retained to provide the service until removed through its controls or an account-deletion request.
You can edit your profile and remove your Cheers in the app. Contact us to remove a post made in an earlier beta version. To delete your account, open Profile → Delete Account and confirm. Deletion removes your account, profile/avatar, Cheers, posts, suggestions, supporter groups you created, and personal achievement records. Venue listings you added remain available without their link to your account.
You can also contact privacy@localcheers.app to request access, correction, or deletion of your data, or for help if an in-app deletion fails.
Local Cheers is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
